Ok BW, call me stunned and in disbelief….please let everyone know for certain if the end of this is serious — the tone of the piece certainly suggests it is, but still SMH at the impossibly ridiculous proposals around peace w/ISIS. Please post an addendum to let your listeners know – we don’t want to feel stupid repeating or posting it. If it’s a real discussion more people really need to hear it.

I listened to this this morning and I have no idea if I’m supposed to take it seriously.

  3. Brendan Mackie says:

Fascinating–but (and this is a sign of the times)–fatally unclear where this falls on the fact / fiction continuum.

  4. Justin says:

This is the most insane thing I have ever heard, yet, I don’t doubt for one second that it is an actual plan.

  5. Benjamin. Thank you thank you thank you. I don’t think I’ve laughed as hard at any podcast as I did on your Art of the deal episode. That was hilarious and I loved your incredulous responses. Please don’t move to France. It’s going to be alright. I hope he announces his UFC idea. That should put a button on this ridiculous campaign. Peace

How factually am i supposed to take this? I dont think i have ever heard TOE purport itself as a news source, but since i heard no disclaimers it seems like i should regard this as some form of journalistic reporting. Does Chris have any evidence, or can anyone other Chris corroborate any of the details? If this is only a story for amusement, it does the job quite well without need for subterfuge; however, if there is any factual merit to the content presented, it seems that much more coverage and investigation is needed on this subject. If true, this seems like a really big deal (no pun intended).

I have only listened to your show this once. Are the comments made by Chris factual or are his comments like Onion News?.

I want to tell others but I don’t want to look silly (I have quoted Onion by mistake so I always like to check sources).

ps Can your reveal Chris’ last name.
    thank you

You are shitting me, aren’t you?

A faithful listener (but thinking you are crazy, or else…. things are worse than I ever imagined).

  9. Riley McCall says:

This is so terrifying. But thank you!

  10. Barack Obama says:

lol I can’t believe people are doubting the veracity of Special Correspondent Chris

That was one nutty, nutty, fabulously entertaining ~17 minutes of lunacy I’ve heard in quite a while. Thanks!

    BW is king!

People will never get the fact/fiction blur you cook up 🙂

There’s no warning. Just an implied common-sense test, with no answers at the end of the book.

    Brilliant sir! Brilliant!

Seems everyone came here to complain. Personally I really enjoyed the particular shade of grey you managed to strike here, but speculative fiction is my jam anyways so I guess I’m not quite as easily fooled. Keep up the good work.

Wtf did I just listen to… I have always thought his presidency might be like the movie Idiocracy http://m.imdb.com/title/tt0387808/ … Holy —- it just might be

My theory on the theory of everything:
The Podcast made up the most absurd Trump solution to ISIS and left it to the viewers to determine if it’s real or fake. The whole point is that Trump is so absurd and unpredictable that such a ridiculous plan could have come from him. And that’s the scary thing – where the concern lies; there is nothing too crazy, no idea too far-fetched for Trump.

Funny conspiracy stuff. Never heard this podcast before. Is this just parody?

I love the lines about Trump driving around New York in a Presidential motorcade flipping everyone off with his tiny middle fingers.

Then again, who the hell is “Chris?” His story about the guy with the boyfriend in the bar who works for Donald Trump sounds like a “I walked into a bar” joke. Btw, Iowa sounds like the perfect place to get your jihad on. Hah!!!

  17. John Gillihan says:

Great play but this is enough. Just in case this goon actually is elected (that was kinda hard to write) he doesn’t need any more crazy ideas.

  18. Tim says:

    Wow. Just wow.

I too am new to this podcast – I think this was about the third episode I heard – and it wasn’t until I tried summing this story up in my head to tell others about it that I started doubting its veracity.

Well done sir. I have never heard satire delivered so straight-faced with an American accent. (It’s pretty much par for the course here in the UK, but in my experience at least, American comedy usually signposts things more overtly.)

Listening to this literally made me sick to my stomach.

    Fake news aren’t funny anymore.
