Artist Gary Panter packs up and sizes down, Alix Lambert explains the new computer trap. Plus your host on Gordon Comstock (the escaper protagonist of Orwell’s novel Keep the aspidistra flying).
Thank you! Your piece about not upgrading your device every year and having to subscribe to a software plan was great! So needed today. It is not very often we get to hear real thoughts about how real people use technology. For christ sake CS3 is good enough. I can go buy a new CD of the Beetles albums why can’t past versions of software be available. If the newest version is really that great and warrants the cost then professionals will still buy it. But let the personal consumer use a version they can afford.
Oh yeah, I forgot that money is power and the capitalist system is built on harvesting the populations power. Our purchases are the steam in the juggernauts locomotive racing down the tracks of time to a future I hope we can survive in.
Well thanks again..

Who wants to start a petition to the company that makes Adobe demanding that they change their pricing?
