Absorbed by Institutions

The artist Chris Vargas has always thought the Gay Liberation Monument in Christopher Park was ridiculous as a memorial to the Stonewall riots. When offered the chance to make the Stonewall Re-Memorialization Project at the New Museum,  Chris has to figure out how to do institutional critique in an institution.

    Hey Ben and team,
Given the apparent influx of negative feedback, I feel like y’all could do with some other voices. To me, what you’re making is some of the best stuff on tape. I have been trying to wrap my head around what’s happening with and on the internet in recent years. Whenever I try and talk to people about it, I feel like my cries fall on deaf ears. Your show is, as far as I know, the only piece of media confronting what exactly is going on with men and fascism in anglo-society. I live in Spain and find it incredibly difficult to explain to my non-anglo friends how Anglo culture is evolving and changing in these times. Please, pretty please, don’t stop.

Yes! Exactly! I’m trying to understand what is going on. Who these people are. The rationale, or lack thereof.

  2. Harmon says:

LOL. Poor Benjamen. He makes several episodes characterizing the “IDW” as insidious crypto-fascists and is still dragged by his audience for not screeching “bad man is bad! bad man is bad!” for the necessary Two Minutes Hate.

Hello, first of all thanks for your work. Could share the name of the song playing at 22:35?

    Thanks again!

I had a boyfriend that suddenly began to get into Ben Shapiro, Jordan Peterson and red pilling. I had no idea what he was being brainwashed by.
I am grateful for your overview. It helped me gain insight into his mind and to help me weed out potential future mates.

While I’m at it, what is the closing song from this episode? I love it.
